about todd louiso

After attending New York University film school, where he interned for Academy Award winning director Robert Benton and at Saturday Night Live, Todd moved to Los Angeles for a role on the short lived James L. Brooks series, Phenom starring Judith Light.  After the show's cancellation, he wrote, directed & produced an adaptation of Tom Stoppard’s The Fifteen Minute Hamlet starring Austin Pendleton, which won Best Short at the New York Comedy Film Festival.  That film, as well as two of his features, premiered at Sundance.  Love Liza, starring Philip Seymour Hoffman & Kathy Bates won the Waldo Salt Best Screenplay Award, while Hello I Must Be Going by Sarah Koskoff was selected as the Opening Night film of the festival. His co-adaptation of Macbeth starring Michael Fassbender & Marion Cotillard premiered in competition at Cannes.​

 

At age 11, he attended the coldest NFL football game in history where the wind chill was -59F.​

 

His films have screened at the Toronto, AFI, Cannes, Hamburg, San Sebastian, Nantucket, Hamptons, Chicago and London film festivals.  He is an Annenberg Grant recipient, Sundance Lab Advisor, Times Talks guest, Adjunct Professor of Directing at USC and served as Artist In Residence at the Sundance Institute.

 

As an actor, he's appeared in films and television shows including Scent of a Woman, Apollo 13, Jerry Maguire, The Rock, School for Scoundrels, High Fidelity, Thank You for Smoking, TogethernessSilicon Valley and the Rodrigo Garcia film,  Raymond and Ray.
